]]>One of the important tasks of leaders in the current era is to build networks with fellow friends who have the same burden and longing. That is what we did with the Youth and Children’s Commission team of the Indonesian Evangelical Churches and Institutions (PGLII).

Since its establishment Indonesia has become the host for the holding of the Election of the leadership of the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA). We have thought about what momentum for youth we can do. Then friends from Converge suggested that a meeting be held for the Asian region.

Then it was decided two days before the Grand WEA event (November 7-13) for the meeting of the Youth Converge Asia officials. November 5 – 7 at the DPrima hotel Jakarta 2 hotel in the Sukarno Hatta Airport area, the event was held. There were 27 participants who attended from 12 countries in Asia representing Central Asia, South Asia and Southeast Asia.

The event was relaxed but very contained, knowing this event was attended by youth leaders from various countries in Asia. Agreements and plans were made to improve services among young people. Central Asia will promote Prayer meetings for young people, South Asia plans training for young people in the region. Southeast Asia plans to add friends from several countries that have not yet entered, such as Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, Laos, Brunei, East Timor.

In Indonesia we are praying that we will be able to equip young people with skills for digital services. Pray that the planning of the training will go well.

]]>Hearing the word “Bali”, we will surely think about holidays, relax, enjoying the beach and tourist’ attractions and other things related to it. But this time Bali became a place, where we held Digital Ministry workshops. Working and practicing on how to use methods and tools we already have and how to develop the ministry in the future, especially in this digital era, the time where all activities require us to do things digitally.

From November 2 – 4, located at the “Palm Beach Hotel”. Some friends from various regions in Indonesia came to join this program. The atmosphere was supportive, because it was held in a quiet and comfortable place that was suitable for workshops like this. Three IT volunteers, were present to help us understand and showed us the ins and outs of websites and Apps so that we will use them better in the future.

Starting an important ministry like this requires a clear vision and hard works, because a lot of things have to be done, especially to cover Indonesia’s very large area. We feel that only few workers really have the burden of serving through this field. But seeing the enthusiasm of all participants from the first to the last session, we believe that in the future there will be many friends who want to be involved in this ministry.

As an adage said “We move with the movers”, we want to move with all friends who are ready to move together and serve through this field, for we believe that “for God nothing is impossible”. (by WS translate by RS)

In this digital era nowadays, the development of technology runs very fast. Just look at Smartphone products, which developed tremendously. Other products that use digital technology are also growing very fast, as well. This is the era we are living. Seekers are also looking for ‘truth’ through digital world. In order to serve them, we approach them digitally.

That is why equipping staff members who are serving in this ministry, (after Workshop for Indonesian staff), there was also a meeting with around 40 staff members from several ASEAN countries. The event was called Digital School of Leadership (DSL) which was held at Puri Saron Hotel, at Denpasar – Bali, on 5-7 November, 2018.

Basics of the importance of Digital Ministry, how to develop existing tools, Personas, Branding, Digital Maturity, Transformational Leadership, and how to start digital ministry in a new area, all were learned and discussed thoroughly. These 3 days were very short compare to many lessons that are mostly new to some of us. We are grateful for supportive environment being build between new DS Staff and those who have already started and part of this ministry few years ago.

According to Simon, one of Digital ministry’s international leaders: “This is the answer to our prayers, because of the positive response from staff and many are willing to be involved.” Phoebe from Vietnam: “This is my dream come true, taking part in this event and get to know and learn from those who have previously served through this path. ”

There were many ‘to do list” as action points after this event. It’s not enough just to be enthusiastic, but ‘what after DSL’ is very important. It’s a privileged and we really are thankful to join this special school.
Pray that everything planned will be done and become reality. ( By WS translate by RS)

]]>Many people ask what is EXPLO, why is it held and what is the purpose of this event.
EXPLO stands for Spiritual Explosion, meaning a spiritual explosion for those who take part in it, so as to give effect to those around them, by equipping participants to convey the Good News – The Gospel of Christ- to others.

Back then, initially EXPLO was held in Dallas, United States in 1972, which was attended by around 80.000 participants. Many people were committed to serve the Lord because of attending it. Two years later Dr. Kim from Korea held such event in Seoul which was taken part by around 500.000 people. We believe that was why Korea has become the most sending country throughout the world.
In Indonesia EXPLO has been carried out since 1975 but on a small scale. In 1985 LPMI once hosted it on a large scale, joining ministries of CCC internationally. Using a satellite owned by TVRI, our national television, held at a Convention Center and attended by 5,000 participants from all over Indonesia.

Since then EXPLO has been carried out in various regions in Indonesia: Semarang, Malang, Ambon, Papua, Toraja and of course, Jakarta.

Last July 2018, EXPLO were held in 2 different regions. July 16-18 in Toraja participated by around 300 people. Then on 27-29 July it was held nationally, in the series of the 50th Anniversary of LPMI, at Wisma Kinasih, Bogor and was attended by 600 participants.
We are grateful through these two events many students and professionals were equipped to serve others and as many as 37 people committed to serving God through LPMI and become staff members.

Pray that the follow-up of this events will run smoothly and produce Christ-Centered Multiplying Disciples. (By WS)

]]>Campus Crusade for Christ International was founded by a young businessman who gave up his life and wealth to Christ.

Bill and Vonette Bright made an important decision in their lives in 1951, they signed on an agreement with Christ that said they were slaves of Christ. Their decision then affected thousands of people around the world including Indonesia.

On August 2, 1968 an institution was established for students named Lembaga Penginjilan (Institution for Students Evangelization) which later became Lembaga Pelayanan Mahasiswa Indonesia, started by Rev.Ais Pormes.

On LPMI’s 50th years of Ministry in Indonesia, a National Staff Conference was held for its staff members on July 29 – August 1st, 2018, at Kinasih Resort – Bogor as many as 350 staff members met and listened to several national speakers, such as: Brig. Gen. Pol. Martinus Hukom – Director of BNPT Law Enforcement; Mr.Hary Tanoesoedibyo – CEO of MNC Group; Prof. Dr. Sri Adiningsih – Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Council. Don’t miss church leaders: Mrs. Rev. DR. Henriette Hutabarat – Lebang – General Chairperson of Indonesia Church Council; Rev. DR. Ronny Mandang – Chairperson of Indonesia Evangelical Alliance, Rev. Robinson Nainggolan – Indonesia Pentacostal Churches Chief Executive Officer. They really equipped and recharged staff members with important information for ministry development.

The reunion and group discussions were so interesting because the organizers arranged sessions in a fascinating way: grouping by GCTC Batch, by MCC and some story telling of the past experience by senior staff members, which remind the audience that starting the ministry was not easy.

Last but not least, 11 new staff Graduation. After going through 10 months of training, they graduated and were ready to be placed anywhere.

Pray that the commitment of all staff members will be stronger after being “recharged” in the National Staff Conference and continue serving the Lord wherever they are enthusiastically. (By WS)

]]>The post LPMI 50 YEARS IN MINISTRY – CELEBRATION appeared first on Multiplikasi.
]]>By God’s Grace this year LPMI is celebrating its 50th years of serving the Lord in Indonesia. A period of time of experiencing God’s great faithfulness in serving in Indonesia. Although there are still many shortcomings here and there, the gratitude of all leaders and staff were manifested in 3 successive events occurred in 27th of July to 2nd of August 2018.

Voices of testimonies of senior staff members who initiated this Institution’s service 50 years ago were still ringing. After getting the vision, Rev. Ais Pormes invited several friends to initiate LPMI in Indonesia. Then sent the first staff to attend GCTC in Manila-Philippines, followed by several other staff members. Beginning in the 70’s they recruited staff members from Indonesia, in 1974 the GCTC training began for staff members in Jakarta, then ministries developed in several strategic cities in Indonesia.

If at present there are 350 staff members serving the Lord through LPMI, it is all due to God’s grace and the hard work of senior staff members in the past. We really appreciate ministries they have already done which shape LPMI today.

On August 2, 2018, located at “Balai Samudra” Building, the expression of praise was stated. Together with 2000 partners: students, church leaders and donors who were present that night, together we raised our thanksgiving for God’s guidance and leading in the development of LPMI ministries. Rev. Dr. Stephen Tong delivered the sermon, giving encouragement to all staff members and partners, to be more dependent on God and not humans.
The theme “Unity in Harmony” feels more and more in line with the situation we are facing in LPMI which from August became one operationally – “IndonesiaOne”. And of course, as part of the nation, which also emphasizes the importance of “Unity in Diversity”. Congratulations from Partner churches, pastors and friends were sent and expressed through the many boards of flowers we have received.

Let us pray together that in entering its new phase, God will use LPMI continuously as a means and channel of blessing to many people in Indonesia. So that more and more people believe in Jesus as Lord and Savior, also more young people will have the burden and be committed to be God’s servants and serve Him. (By WS)
